After a few months of sweat and tears from developers and support from a dedicated community, we are proud to announce that we are now finally out of beta!

What does this mean? Well for starters, we have squashed a majority of bugs that existed during the initial site launch and are now closer than ever to being bug free (but not completely). Many of these problems were discovered by site users, and we'd like to thank all of you for helping us out in that area. In addition to this, we have made a few tweaks to the way voting works to ensure a balanced system. More specifically, we shrunk the vote weight of registered users by a value of two, therefore making votes that were originally worth +4 to +2. This will not affect the overall value of articles on the site.

As previous users can see, we have created a new layout to accompany the update. Aside from being cleaner and easier on the eyes compared to the previous theme, it also makes it much easier for us to add new features due to the simplicity of the code, so expect to see a new features and updates much more frequently than previously.

We'd like to hear more suggestions from users; not only new features, but ways to improve your site experience. If you have any, please feel free to post them in the Suggestion Area forum.

We're glad to see all of you submitting great articles and hope you continue to stick with us as we expand. Keep up the good work!

Sweet! Did we launch on 08/08/08 on purpose?

If so, you should have waited until 8:00.

Oddly enough, no. I only realized the date about two hours prior to launching, and it would have been pretty funny if I made 8:00, but unfortunately I didn't.

The streetlight turned yellow just as I had walked across the street. An old mustang roared by when the light turned red. Its engine rumbled through the night sky, filling the empty street with a moment’s worth of thunder. I turned to watch as the car continued down the road without once pressing the breaks. It turned the corner, wheels screeching until it straightened and disappeared from sigh...
