I just tried three times to post an new piece and each time I hit submit it kicked back to preview article and didn't go in.
Any suggestions?

Hmm...I don't see anything odd going on. Did you fill out all of the forms, at the correct lengths?

I've got a related problem: Whenever I try to submit, it kicks me back to the page where you have to enter the title, summary, and image (step 1). There are red words saying I need to include an image; I include an image every time i try it, but it kicks me back anyway

That shouldn't be a problem anymore either, it had been an issue all day, but we finally fixed it. Sorry for the inconvenience.
