The range for me to aim and see
Your figure and cloudy light
Has been cut short by each airport
And every hopscotch flight

A fine spun spine web pipeline
Inflates in blood pathways
And as place and time pull on the line
It aches our hearts and veins

And dimmer still the day reveals
Small stray sparks of text
Meant as cures they rape the source
Of every static breath

The feral seal that keeps me here
–a constant state of wait
Seems insane like vorpal rain
Though both decapitate

No choral sage or loose-leaf page
Can sing or say the answer
For the gorging question that I lend
To every song and stanza

Will the place I rest and trace
My dreams be warm enough alone?
Or can you sleep here next to me
And call that bed a home?

they deflect our proffered hand.

And how they regret their inability,
to return to those days of old,
where aspiration arose as crescendos upon life,

Weeping tears of destiny they decry their lot,
pointing at paradise lost,
