At first glance, a metaphor didn't really appear to me, however now that you mention it, I think that you are probably correct.

What? How did you come up with that? I didn't see that in the story at all. I suppose it makes sense, but it's a bit of a stretch.

I don't think it to be much of a stretch. It could be about many things, but it definitely matches up with homosexuality. Just look at the title. A cat who doesn't like fish. Some refer to pussy as fish, because some nasty ones smell that way. A cat could also refer to a person, like that's a "cool cat". That's just aesthetic, there is more if you just read it a little closer.

Well, yeah, I got the fish part. Haha. But we'll never know for sure until the author speaks up.

Ya it's easy to think there is a hidden message since the story taken literally has no message or point. Homosexuality is a good guess because of the hard times mentioned and how others pressured the cat to indulge in what the other cats liked. I'd have to side with Adam on this one.

It doesn't really have to be singled into homosexuality. It could be an apt metaphor for any kind of pleasure or aversion that is seen as "outside the social norm." While homosexuality is the most easily applied, and does make a certain amount of sense, it could as easily be applied to any kind of fetish, or any sort of inner self-discovery.

Really good short though.
