The Rant

A Rant About, Ranting.

    The Pros
Quiet Carlinesque. I enjoyed it so much. It was a nice read and the paradox was fantastic. It's very much like the way a standup comedian would approach the subject, not in that same serious vein that many often do.
    The Cons
Could have used a bit more colour, maybe? I don't know if that makes any sense but it seems like that.
    Final Thoughts
Really good. You should definately try writing some more of these in this vein and maybe, give a shot at standup comedy. It might serve you well.

  • Well, you definitely captured the paradox....

    The Pros
You managed to salvage some comedy out of what was essentially an exercise in hypocrisy. And you, unlike so many others, actually understand what satire means.
    The Cons
It's difficult to guage the tone. My assumption (correct me if I'm wrong) is that you're (humourously) exploring the idea of constructing a poorly-informed, indignant argument against those who make poorly-informed indignant arguments. This you do incredibly well, but it's the tone which is the important bit.

Had this stayed on the side of sounding overly serious for long (and it nearly did at one point), it would have been difficult to read. There's an element of taking the piss out of oneself with satire which you nearly avoided.
    Final Thoughts
Overall, not a fun read, which is a shame, but the occasional adjustment here and there would make this awesome.

    The Pros
The humour of it. The detailed 'description' of ranters - not a very flattering one. The whole rant, I can clearly hear your voice in the writing.
    The Cons
No cons as such, except perhaps the longish paragraphs. My old eyes got lost in the text at times and ended up reading the same stuff three times over.
    Final Thoughts
Like I said, fun to read.

    The Pros
I agreed with you. If everything were art, ranting would surely be the most used and the poorest quality medium. It happens too often and I can relate to your sheer urge to go off on them at the spot of the crime. Funny, realistic, virtually scoured from top to bottom for punctuation and gramar, and wrapped up with a big red bow that says "I Fucking Hate Ranters!!!1". Of course, you make good use of irony, since you are ranting as well.
    The Cons
The swearing got a little fucking tedious. And I had to look long and hard for some grammar errors, but there were some here and there. Just, please, I don't like to think of you as a potty mouth, even though you obviously are one.
    Final Thoughts
Good show, sir. Tone down the language just a tad and we'll actually have humorous articles that anybody can read here!

    The Pros
Well...your rant was extremely satisfying and true! So satisfying that I'm not actually going to mention all the 'bad' stuff! It was a nice lighthearted rant!! generally well written, and with a few nice laughs! I liked the way you added a hyperlink - gonna try that one out myself sometime!
    The Cons
Umm, being a scaredy cat (and the fact you're an admin type dude) - none! OK...so there are a few places where the flow changes, and becomes non-rant like - so essentially I 'lost the plot' a little....
    Final Thoughts
Overall was a fun change to the normal poems about roses (oops that was one of mine!) - refreshing to see something that is 'real'....

Oh, like yesterday it was, I still remember the blossoming Cherry trees to the left of me, springing from their hibernation to the blazing heat, blood red and full of potential. I will never forget the life you lived, every second was a permanent photograph to me, I try to keep them sorted still, chronologically. The first time we met, you filtered through my veins, drifting deliberately through...
