Skin on cloth on sand

Skin on cloth on sand

a quaint poem of a beachful nature

A short wind from the open sea cuts low to cool your salted breath
Tempered in the summer sun skin on cloth on sand glows—a treasured chest
Far from fear of cancered flesh the hidden thoughts behind your eyes
Break through as words between your lips to lose the arcane trick’s disguise
The hat well brimmed that covers us can’t shade or mar affinity
If struck deaf of blind or coma tied there’d still be the guide of gravity
To pull my string of veins between the coming time and all its spaces
Into places where I’ll be to lay beside your cordial face
And not feel slighted or dismayed because of future traveling
Because the times of separation have passed in place of you and me.
