Remember her.

Remember her.

A poem about idolising love.

Forgotten streets where idols walk,
wanderers recall a flattered grief
and speak the tongue that angels talk
to lend their hearts some small relief.
The porcelain doll who’s blazing soul
outshines all her starry kin,
lost amid the phantom shoal
where forgotten things begin.
Red lips that never learned to kiss,
or sightless eyes of precious stone
paint my mirage of nameless bliss
though it seems I’m still alone.
Rest beyond the faithless rift
above dull lovers idle scorn.
A spectre with a greater gift
the woman who was never born.

Oh, like yesterday it was, I still remember the blossoming Cherry trees to the left of me, springing from their hibernation to the blazing heat, blood red and full of potential. I will never forget the life you lived, every second was a permanent photograph to me, I try to keep them sorted still, chronologically. The first time we met, you filtered through my veins, drifting deliberately through...
