Conflagrated

Conflagrated

my first rap

Red black flesh burned, charred and flaked
Conflagrated bodies left behind in the wake
Of fire blasting bombs for the lost and forsake
Angels from the graves deliver the pain
Like an over eager master checkmating the king
The planes are insane, the engines they sing
Cocking small stones ready to attack with their slings
And the man made god won’t be destroying his ring

The battle hardy man won’t eat it
He knows the lies aren’t true because he’s there and he’s seen it
But the pain in his leg’s been receding
He should be back in the field and fighting this evening

One armed soldiers defending the truth
Chasing down the crimes like a vigilant sleuth
Shot dead for the proof, back of the head like Wilkes Booth
And the warning alarms are bashing the night
And the world’s turned green with nuclear light
Fear in the fight, on the left and the right
Don’t forget about the cities now covered in blight
Redirecting the plight and you’ll finally realize that they’ll never unite

The battle hardy man won’t eat it
He knows the lies aren’t true because he’s there and he’s seen it
But the pain in his leg’s been receding
He should be back in the field and fighting this evening

He started out missing his girl the only one in his world
But after six weeks she’s been lost in the swirl
Of all the bullets and hurl
In the middle of a firefight he’s not thinking of her
He’s dreaming of gore
Maybe he’ll survive and remember her
He’s changed in the head for each of the dead
For every bullet he fed into enemy heads
Bombs blowing up each of his legs
Already filled up with lead
The only people safe are already dead…

The battle hardy man won’t eat it
He knows the lies aren’t true because he’s there and he’s seen it
But the pain in his leg’s been receding
He should be back in the field and fighting this evening

Oh, like yesterday it was, I still remember the blossoming Cherry trees to the left of me, springing from their hibernation to the blazing heat, blood red and full of potential. I will never forget the life you lived, every second was a permanent photograph to me, I try to keep them sorted still, chronologically. The first time we met, you filtered through my veins, drifting deliberately through...
