my three-cul-de-sac street,
one in the morning.
I'll never live down
those palm trees.


Sunny-side up
becomes scrambled.
Another meal, single.


Topless, cuddling
a prostitute, topless;
that's all.
He calls it euphoria.


Standing, sitting under the awning
at the old elementary school,
he never attended,
a second cigarette
to wait out the
early, early morning rain.
They watch the numbers,

grow wetter, wetter.

  The title threw me a bit but I enjoyed the humorous apathy of this piece, or should I say for pieces.
