Lengthy Repetition Murders Quality!
Posted Jun 12, 2008
The Pros
A lot of the poems were very good. Some of them not so much, but more often than not well done. Some of these could have even been an article on their own such as 'My School' and 'Victory'. I'm not a very poetic person, but a lot of them sounded good to me. You expressed interesting ideas and feelings in your poems nicely.
The Cons
As Soli said, the choice to repeat the title of the poem in every stanza became too repetitive and trying a different style would have been appreciated. Some of the poems were much weaker in terms of content and theme. The idea to put all of these poems was a good idea for shorter poems that couldn't stand alone, but others could have had been their own submission. I also think you put too many poems in, making the article longer than it needed to be.
Final Thoughts
You're a very good poet that just needs to experiment more with different styles. Just keep writing and I think you're going to keep getting better and better. As for this article, the overall quality was botched by the length and poem choices, and using the repetition of the title in too many of the poems.

Great Stuff!
Posted Jun 12, 2008
The Pros
I liked reading through them, I didn't get bored and start skimming (which is a bad habbit of mine). So just holding my spaztic attention is worth points! Good use of somber and positive subjects, it shows you have variety in your writing.
The Cons
You have a habbit of using the title in the poem. Which isn't bad unless you keep doing it. Try to explore some other formats for getting your point across, even if it turns out bad, the exploration process will open new possibilities to you.
Final Thoughts
Very well done overall. My only beef with this article.... is the people that gave it positive and negative votes without saying WHY. I think this article deserves more attention. The poem 'Failed Attempts' reminded me of a book that you should read (if you haven't already).
1,000 Ways to Die by Henry Rollins.
If you haven't heard of Henry Rollins, I highly suggest his books to help inspire you with some unique writing. At least, it inspired me!
