Seemed your body, eternally fresh
When taught me you the delights of your flesh.
Were you but a kitten,
Inspiration to so many words written.
Was I but a friendly imagination
Who found in thee a temptation.
But to my discontent, a Kitten strayed.
When wished I she stayed.

Someday again, I’ll see her,
I feel certain of that.
But where I once saw a Kitten
Will I now see a cat?

Will hopingly I pursue,
Looking for a Kitten I once knew?

  A good example of well executed rhyming couplets. They don’t seem forced and aren’t any half rhymes which is much better here as they wouldn’t fit at all with the style.
